Foxpro ODBC driver

I wonder if I am missing something here and any help would be appreciated.
I need to be able to access a Foxpro table that has index properties 'CHR$'
and that has MEMO fields.
My understanding is that the Clarion Foxpro driver does not support 'CHR$'
index properties and I therefore cannot use that driver to write to the file
and update those indexes.
The Foxpro ODBC driver does not support MEMO or BLOB fields. The dictionary
wizard appears to import them OK but an attempt to write to them produces a
File error.

Therefore it appears I cannot access these Foxpro files using Clarion?
