Hi
I've added octagonal icons to the d-icons set (see the "Lawyers and icons"
post
below for further details)

The package now includes 60 styles in 5 colors and 3 shapes (900 icons)
plus the same icons in 256x256 vista compatible pngs, and gifs (2700 files
in all) plus blank
background icons in case you wish to add to the set yourself.

I'm selling them for $us19.95. Clarion developers are welcome to a 50%
discount by using the coupon:
CPN0402538605

That's 900 icons for under $10.

If anyone would like to distribute these icons as a part of a developer
tool, please let me know.

This "Upgrade" is free to registered users! Just download it again - same
password. Email me if you have trouble - support at dsbglobal.com. People
who thought they bought 300 icons now have 900!

Cheers!

Lawyers. I guess we need them, but on occasions they can have the most
bizzarre demands.

Earlier this year I was doing some contract programming for a large
multi-national company.

Large companies have lawyers. Lawyers don't always know much about the field
in which they give advice. Anyway, the lawyers concerned here wanted me to
sign a document saying that all the artwork included in my programming was
my own work. It was not sufficient that I had rights to it !

So I had to buy an icon editor and make icons.

It was actually quite good fun!

I'm selling them cheaply in the hope they help someone else ...

Hi David,

Nice icons but still not very useful for me. Imagine, just now I'm
looking for a collection of icons for my new application and need a
consistent set of icons for example:

- All Customers
- My Customers
- All Servers
- My Servers
- Application Servers
- Databases
- Connection
- Preference
- Users
- Tools
- Settings
- Import / Export
- Team of Authors
- About
+ other specific icons.

They should be used on APP Toolbar (32x32) as well as in all Windows
(16x16) or in a special Trees.

So, do you think I can use some of your icons? I don't think so and it
doesn't help me if you have 6 sizes or various colors in your set. It
is my repeated problem every time when I develop a new application and
have to solve the "icon" problem, and there is not any proper set
available on the Web.

I think the only possibility for every programmer or IT company is to
hire a graphic student and let him/her to create the consistent set of
icons, graphics, wallpapers etc. Or of course, all of us can learn
Microangelo, Photoshop or Gimp and create our own unique set of icons.

Good Luck and maybe the next time you will have something useful for
me!

Cheers,
Alfred

Alfred, I'd suggest you look at these two sites - if they don't have an icon
set that meets your needs - possibly either Jesus Moreno or Susan Pichotta
could create a custom set to meet your needs.
