| Since Clarion Magazine publishes more or less continually, I don't
typically have theme-based issues, except during DevCons. And obviously
there's no DevCon this September, but if there was one, we'd be hearing
a lot about Clarion.NET.
Okay, so Clarion.NET isn't out yet, in beta or otherwise, and SV is
certainly right to choose their own best timing. But as this month's
articles demonstrate, you don't have to wait for Clarion.NET to use .NET
with Clarion.
I believe that Clarion.NET will be even more significant for our
community than the long ago and long awaited release of Clarion for
Windows. If you have doubts, read this month's articles; I think you'll
agree with me that .NET is absolutely huge for the future of Clarion
development.
Upcoming articles this month include:
- What is .NET anyway?
- Why should I care about Clarion.NET?
- Mixing Clarion with .NET, Part 1 - Calling .NET code from Clarion
- Mixing Clarion with .NET, Part 2 - Using .NET controls in Clarion windows
- Mixing Clarion with .NET, Part 3 - Calling back to Clarion from .NET
There are several more parts to the "Mixing Clarion with .NET series,"
so the theme will continue on into October. These articles are written
by Wade Hatler. Wade has been around Clarion since the beginning, and
was a co-owner of Intelliscan, one of the first Clarion third party
providers. This is a terrific series that shows you how to leverage the
power of .NET right now.
