I am having problems running a Clarion 5.5 application under Windows
XP. The machine is a Celeron 700 with 256 Mb of RAM. The application
has slowed down considerably since being put on this machine. It was
previously running fine under Windows 98 and 95. The customer has
since reported that the program has slowed considerably. The
application runs using TPS files and is a multi-dll app. Has anyone
else had similar problems and, if so, how did you solve them?
Thanks

Hi James,

I can not give you a definitive answer, but I could make a few
suggestions;

~ 1. Although theoretically you can run WinXP on a PIII with 256MB
of RAM, it runs very slowly. If they can not upgrade to a newer
computer, they should consider increasing the RAM to 512MB.
~ 2. You should check the file administration setting under WinXP.
~ 3. If the computer is being used as a server for your
application, you should check server settings for your network

This is probably not very helpful, but I figure you should start with
the simple stuff first.

Ciao . . . C.Joseph
