Author App "Disappears" From Screen

Hi,

I have a new client using Windows 2000 as the OS and they say that my app
just disappears from the screen sort of "all on it's own". It also even
disappears like that when no one is using the PC at the time and the PC is
"unattended" so to speak. Anyone know what can cause this???

I have never had this problem with any of my other customers.

They also say that, once in a while, when they drag an app window around on
the desktop the app will just disappear too. They are using a dual monitor
setup on the peer-to-peer "pseudo-server" too. <g>

I never used Windows 2000 and went from W98se right to WinXP and therefore I
have no experience with it. The app is a C55h developed app on a Windows XP
PC using .tps files.

My Customer is a computer store and they "emphatically" say the ONLY stable
OS is Win2000 and refuse to use anything else. <g> They also did not have
OPLocks, WriteAhead and WriteBehind turned off on any of the PC's in his 5
PC peer network. They are turning them off now and I am hoping that will
solve all of these problems. Does anyone with some experience with Win2000
know if turning all of those things off will solve ALL these problems or
not???

I just had another thought... Will any of the "popular" anti-virus
utilities cause this "app disappearing" kind of a problem??? I am using
V-Com's System Suite (Trend Micro Anti-virus) and never had a problem due to
that myself.

Can anyone please shed some light on this for me???

TIA a bunch...

Earl,

Just a guess (don't have dual monitors yet), but might want to have them
send you their INI file(s) for your app and see if there some "funny
business" in some of the settings.

Worth a shot.
