I'm trying to access a field in a list box with a button.

What I want to do is edit a given field in a highlited record of a
list: I know I could use the edit-in-place feature but I want to do
some drop downs on the fields and some extra processing that is
distinct for different fields.

Can how can you access a given field from a highligted record in a
listbox????

I guess you could use the template generator and create update for
each field and then just put the field in the edit window that you are
interested in editing???

Any other suggestion on how to directly access the field that is
highlighted???
