| Firstly, happy holidays to y'all!
We are hiring a new programmer with no prior Clarion experience. He does
have plenty of MS programming background and PHP, Java, etc. Any suggestions
besides sending him to SoftVelocity's courses on getting him up to speed on
Clarion quickly? 3rd party classes, etc.? I don't have time to train him,
and I hate to just give him the manuals...
Next, re C6, a couple observations if some of you haven't already noticed:
1. It's very case sensitive. A good thing, as I've been sloppy about case
usage over the years since the clarion compiler didn't seem to mind. Now it
does and that's a good thing, IMHO. However, it does cause wierd errors.
Just an FYI.
2. Dictionary validation checks are REALLY being enforced. Seems more so
than in C5.5. If you have a popup saying a value has to be such and such and
there's nothing in your code, check the dictionary validation rules for that
field.
Cheers,
Lew Lepley
