I was looking at a new web page that might be of interest

http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/Doc/J4APL

"J for the APL Programmer

Though J shares many concepts with APL, in many respects it is
radically different, and almost all APL constructions that are in J
differ in some way.

These differences can be a stumbling block to the newcomer who thinks
that J is simply an ASCII version of APL, prompting questions such as:
"...............

This document answer a lot of questions about the differences between J
and earlier versions of Array Programming Languages

The www.jsoftware.com web page has also changed recetly

Outstandingly good presentation and very helpful to
those of us who are lost in the limbo between APL and J,
or, more correctly, know some APL but wish we could
do J as easily.

We must examine what we must loose (conceptual clarity
and simplicity of the APL symbols) with what we can gain
(superiour performance, greater flexibility).

Some will cross the river easily while others hesitate,
still taken by the beauty of the meadows on this side.

Eventually, a path to cross will be found and taken, as it must be.

Many thanks.
Jim

One of the recent changes at jsoftware is because of the amount of
traffic
as well as to satisfy wishes from users the forum has changed

http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm

Now has three forums

One for the upcoming beta (and future betas)
another for programming and then a general forum

You can assign for any or all of these forums

There is always quite a lot of activity
