Ted have you tried out APLX? It runs under Windows, but is available under
Linux. Cost is 422 UK pounds, but has a pretty impressive Graphics
package.

My second question is related to our discussions in the last ice age,
about coding APL primatives in terms of other APL primatives for a
"minimalist" coding structure for implementation in target machines. A
sort of "Tiny APL" that can completely fit inside some of the newer
microprocessors in "stand alone" configurations where speed is not all
that important. Some of these newer chip sets even offer "secure"
arrangements to prevent the reading or accessing of machine level code,
thereby greatly enhancing the protection against "reverse engineering".

You used to say that an engineer is a guy who can do for a buck what any
other idiot can accomplish for ten bucks. So where can this go, now that
16 bit 128K, 40MHz microprocessors cost less that $6.00 in single lot
quantities?
