| Anyone have any opinions on IBM's newest "Z9" mainframe? Any new
application-state or supervisor-state instructions? Anything old
removed?

| Red Book SG24-6669 "IBM System z9 109 Technical Introduction" has
quite a bit of information, including a list of added instructions.
(I believe there are a few typos in the list.) I have updated the
instruction lists at http://www.tachyonsoft.com/txac.htm
with information from that book.
<plug>
Current releases of the Tachyon z/Assembler and the Tachyon
Operating System support most of the new System z9 instructions.

This site appears to be dead.

--> I found one typo: MYR and MAYR are both stated to have opcode B338.
It seems likely that the error is with the MYR instruction. Probably
the opcode was mistyped and should have been B33B instead.

There are also at least two instructions missing from the
list in the book:
C2rA ALGFI
C8r0 MVCOS

Ok - thanks David! I'll add these to my charts.
I can see ALGFI = Add Logical Grande Fullword Immediate.
Also I assume MVCOS is something about MoVe Characters.
What the OS in MVCOS might stand for escapes me, however.
Do you happen to know?
Cheers,
Abe.
