Author applet web page jumps in front

I often start a web page loading and then go work on something else. Some
web pages have the obnoxious characteristic of forcing themselves in front
of what I'm working on. I can be typing something in, in the middle of
sliding a scroll bar, anything, and these web pages just blast what I'm
doing and stick themselves in front of my nose.

What these pages all have in common is, they have an applet on them. It
seems that the JVM forces a web page to the front whenever it has
initialized an applet.

Is there any way to stop this from happening? Web pages should stay where
they are until I click their taskbar button.

Thanks,
Allan
