No - neither did I mean "rant" in any derogatory sense - It was only
because I noticed him referring to it so in another post on c.l.j.p :-)
I've been following his posts for ages and do acknowledge the immense
value that his posts provide to the c.l.j newsgroups.

No.. flames aren't my cup of cake.. As a matter of fact I cringe when I
see old threads where I had been involved in some and wait for the day
when they would disappear from Google's archives :-) (Not that I go
hunting for them, but just the other day my son happened to forward me a
link to one of those with a wink smiley that meant something like
"Caught you fighting in newsgroups" )
My request for a reference was purely with the intention of wanting to
read his views on generics which I'm sure would be wise and useful as
always.
