How do u limit the number of Charcters in a text box in Jbuilder

How do u limit the number of Charcters in a text box in Jbuilder.I am using the XY layout Manager and i am trying to get my textbox to take not more than a certain number of characters.For example when a user is entering age in the age the text box,he will not be able to type more than 3 numbers in the text box.

Sorry for these simple questions,i am just learning to crawl in this programming world.
