Can MIDP 1.0 program run in MIDP 2.0 phones?
|
|
|
| Dear All,
I write a code that perform jsr-82 SPP communications, but it
seems that not every phone can run this code well, I am confusing that is
the MIDP version problem?
Best regards,
Boki.

It has nothing to do with the version of MIDP but with whether or not
the phone in question supports JSR-82 (Java APIs for Bluetooth). You
can't load an application with such code onto a handset that does *not*
support that JSR: the bytecode verifier will reject it since those APIs
cannot be resolved.

| Hi,
I found the problem, when I install my program to SIEMENS SK65,
and I search the services by PC BTW driver, I can only see the original
serial port, but there is no serial port open by java(I check by name
of serial port).
It seems that SK65 can't accpet such a java code that perform SPP ?
Does anyone can do that on SIEMENS jsr-82 phones? I hope that is my
code bug....
Best regards,
Boki.

Can you explain why you keep bringing up JSR-82 while talking about
serial ports? JSR-82 is about bluetooth and has nothing to do with
serial ports.

| If the cell phone only support java but no jsr-82, it can't run the
bluetooth fucntion of java program.
ex: Sony Ericsson S700i / K700i ... motorola A768i .... etc.
Which support JSR-82?
ex: Sony Ercisson P900/P910i/K750i/W800i... nokia 6600, SIEMENS S65 ... etc.
Best regards,
Boki.

Then why are you on about serial ports? It's very confusing when your
problem is about serial ports but you keep mentioning JSR-82.

| ......................I am developing a code that will integrate into jsr-82
phones for remote control bluetooth devices by bluetooth phones.
Is that cleary enough?
Do you ever design a code that perform bluetooth and serial port (RFCOMM) ?

It's clear that your statements are very confusing. But, chalk it up to
language differences.

As I said, the fact that you keep mentioning serial ports while talking
about bluetooth phones: the two are not the same and are not even related.
