Java VM - How to prompt user to install SUN Plugin?
|
|
| NOSPAM 2004-09-28, 4:13 pm |
| I have a Java Applet, but it only works for latest Sun Java VM (doesn't work
for Microsoft VM), is there a way to prompt users to install Sun's plugin?
Just like Flash does, it automatically detects using some javascript or
<object> tag activeX stuff and prompt user to download latest plugin. Any
idea?

If a poster is unused to researching questions thoroughly,
or not familiar with Usenet, or wonderring how to get their
first package working, I would recommend c.l.j.help.
On the other hand, if a poster is prepared to argue anything
they say that might be disputed, and back it up with code and
URL's if necessary, rather than collapse into a screaming hissy
fit on the suggestion they might be wrong, go straight to c.l.j.programmer.
Anything in between, ..I leave that to their judgement.
Of course, all of the above is changeable, depending on my
mood and how many times I have answered the same (or very similar)
questions that day. Which is my way of saying..
Everything above is my opinion, certainly not a 'golden rule'.
