Installation and patches to the JVM 1.5

JBoss Latest version back to 4.05

Load Balancing and Clustering
Extensions management Security Management of real server resource use
by JVM instances.
JVM thread profiling experience.
Database middleware (i.e. JDBC)


Responsibilities:

The web server software administrator position will fulfill the role
of installation and configuration of the software installed on web
servers that allows it to render web pages created by web developers.
In addition; this person must be able to install and configure Java
and application server software that allows Java code written by web
developers to be executed server-side to render dynamically created
web content. Responsible for functional, technical, and security
requirements of the software used by web sites to serve web pages to
visiting customers.

JBoss, a J2EE certified platform for developing and deploying
enterprise Java applications, Web applications, and Portals, JBoss
Application Server provides the full range of J2EE 1.4 features as
well as extended enterprise services including clustering, caching,
and persistence. We need the community to drive new features in each
of these features. You are a powerful force in professional open
source, and your contribution is essential to keeping JBoss the most
used Java application server on the planet.
JBoss Application Server includes support for Enterprise Java Beans
(EJB) 3.0 which is designed to dramatically simplify the enterprise
Java programming model.

* This is not an entry level IT position. IT operational and
administrative experience is required. Minimum of three years IT
operational and administrative experience is required.

* Prior experience with JBoss and WebSphere administration is
required. Building and configuring servers right out of the box. 3-5
years of web server administration experience is required.

* Prior experience with Peoplesoft integration is preferred, but not
required as they have PeopleSoft in their environment.

* Prior experience with BEA WebLogic or other application server
software such as WebSphere or Tomcat is preferred.

* Prior experience with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) is
preferred.

* apache web server configuration experience is preferred.

* Java virtual machine (JVM) experience is required including:

Though this is not a programmer position the candidate should have the
ability to write small test applications to test functionality and
database connectivity at the infrastructure level.

Qualifications:
Four year technical degree or equivalent work experience

Prior working experience with SSL (secure socket layer) and web site
certificate installation and management is required.

Prior experience working with secure file transfer implementations and
management is desirable.



Note: The client is looking for an experienced candidate for a JBoss/
WebSphere Administrator.
