Hi all,

Im after some software (free or free trial) to convert an mp3 file
into a wma (i know its a windows media audio file) is this still
achievable?? Im running panther. Also I am wanting cut the mp3 's
down to size aswell. Its for making ring tones for my SPV C500

No problem. The best (cheap/free) program for this is Nero Wave
Editor, part of Nero 6 Ultra (from nero.com), for which there should be
a trial version. Simply open the file you want to convert and then
save as whatever OTHER file type you want it to be. You may need to
download their free WMA plugin. Otherwise, try download.com and search
for MP3 to WMA conversion utilities, many of which are free.
Incidentally, Nero, if you're a Mac user, must be run under VirtualPC,
since it's a PC native program. You may have less frustration browsing
download.com for a Mac native program.
