Hi,
Well the module I was discussing here recently, is now ready
for testing by anyone interested.

I put it up on cpan, but cpan is so slow to respond to anything, I have
no idea what is happening to the files there.

Anyways, you can get the latest version at:

http://www.zentara.net/perlplay/mod...ree-0.04.tar.gz

This version supports a floating background, so you can have a choice
of a large "anchored" image, which you scroll over as you scroll
directories. Or a smaller "floating" image, which tracks the motion of
the y scroll, giving the appearance of a stationary image. Only y scroll
tracking is used. The floating image would be useful to keep a company
logo in the field of view.

There are 2 demo's included, and you can run them without installing.
There are a couple of image-processing scripts in the scripts directory,
to help you make a charcoal or faded background image.

It runs on windows, within my limited testing abilities. To install on
windows, all you need to do is copy it to somewhere in your lib, under
Tk.

I tested it for memory leaks, and it runs very clean. One of the reasons
I made this, was because the canvas does a good job
of cleaning up after itself, as opposed to HList.

Any comments, improvements, etc. gladly accepted, and will
include credit for any patches used.

Thanks to Christoph for helping me figure out bindings, to Steven Lidie
for more in-depth analysis, and Slaven Reszic for some rotation code
from his Tk::RotCanvas module.
