Author Hiding base widget options from final the interface of a mega-widget?

What's the best way to provide options to a base widget without using
them in final the interface of a mega-widget? I'm thinking about adding
them to the argument hash with CreateArgs, passing them to
SUPER::Populate in my own Populate method and then deleting them before
calling ConfigSpecs. Is this about right?

Thanks,
Brian
