MainWindow destroy abnormal termination

In my Tk program on Win2000, when a user clicks on an exit button, the
exit event handler gets called. In exit event handler subroutine,
I only have one line code: $mw->destroy(); and I do not have any
code after MainLoop;

I am now getting the following error message when the exit event
subroutine is run:

23db75c is not a hash at C:/Perl/site/lib/Tk/Widget.pm line 96 during global des
truction.

Any ideas on what is causing this ?
