I noted that getOpenFile in Active Perl doesn't support the -multiple
option, Is there any good portable (Active State and Unix) solution to this
problem? I tried doing a dialogue of my own but couldn't get the drive
letters for Windows. Win32::DriveInfo didn't seem to work with Active
State.

From reading the source code, it seems that -multiple is supported in
Tk804.026 and later.
