Installing DBD:Oracle module on Perl 5.8.4

I had the DBD:Oracle module (prebuilt ppm package) installed and
working on Perl 5.6. I have since upgraded to Perl 5.8.4, but the
module does not work anymore. I cannot find any prebuilt ppm packages
for DBD:Oracle to run on Perl 5.8.4.

Any help would be appreciated.

Could be wrong about this (and I'm not sure of the details) - but I think
that DBD::Oracle ppm's for perl 5.8 are illegal owing to some issue
regarding Oracle's licensing/copyright. That being the case, such ppm's
might be hard to locate.

I downloaded the DBD-Oracle module just yesterday. I am using
Activestate Perl 5.8x, and downloaded it through PPM. In fact, I
searched again on the PPM right now, here is the search result:

PPM> search dbd-oracle
Packages available from
http://ppm.ActiveState.com/cgibin/P...urn:/PPMServer:
DBD-Oracle [1.16] Oracle database driver for the DBI module

The whole download size is close to 79 MB.

Try downloading it, and if there is any problem with it that you may
face, post it here again :)
