GD and libpng warning: mkBT: CRC error

Hi,
I have problem with GD. I run it to resize images uploaded from web
server. I don't know how to reproduce the bug, but this error comes up
sometime:
libpng warning: mkBT: CRC error

There are thousands of them, and the server will be very unresponsive.
The only way to fix it is to restart the httpd server. I don't know if
this is the right newsgroup to ask, but I think it has something to do
with perl-GD. My env is:
gd-2.0.15-1
perl-GD-2.11-1
libpng-devel-1.2.2-17
libpng-1.2.2-17
libpng10-1.0.13-9
libpng10-devel-1.0.13-9

Is there any hint? Please help. Thank you very much.
