I'm trying to set my Mac (running OS 10.3.6) up as a local webserver so
that I can develop and test (and finally demonstrate) php and MySQL
driven websites.

So far I have configured Apache, installed and set up MYSQL and seem to
have everything up and running to an extent where I can set up a
database and populate it with tables and columns of data so that my php
files hosted locally can access the information in the database and
display it... Which means that MYSQL and php are up and running. (I was
quite pleased with myself at this stage!)

However, when I come to add or update data within the databases (via
forms in a web-browser) using scripts that work perfectly well on my
remote web-server, nothing seems to happen.

Is there something I need to do in order to make these scripts work
correctly on my local web-server??

TIA
Al.
