Author using phpMyAdmin

After following the instructions for creating a new config folder on a win2k
machine, I created a new server and setup a few of the other items on the
menu of choices. I pretty much guessed at which ones to setup, although it
really doesn't look very complicated.

If I'm wrong insight would be appreciated!!!

Anyway after moving the config.inc to root level, which I assumed was the
phpMyAdmin folder. However, I wasn't sure so I went ahead and copied it to
the wwwroot folder of my win2k running naturally IIS I have the following
error

#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
Probably reason of this is that you did not create configuration file. You
might want to use setup script to create one.

Well like I said above I created the file and tried setting up the password
and user id and it still won't work.

Not sure how to proceed here. I can use the command line functions with my
password. Not sure if that is relevant.

I didn't actually create a user id when I installed mySQL server, I just
created a password. I think my user id is raleigh.

How can I check on this?

Also if the error is asking for a password do I fill in the following fields
in the edit region for adding a new server?

User for config auth = my_user_id???
Password for config auth = passwd from mySQL install???

any insight would appreciated

Thank You
Kevin
