You mean that it doesn't has to be transformed into byte code before it's
passed to the interpreter and thus remains readable from the developer's
point of view?
Well, that's scripting languages for you. There are code obscurators
available for PHP, though, but you will have to provide them with your
scripts to run on other environments.
