Multiple addresses in bcc: header

I am writing a script to help me send out e-mails to members of the site (saved in SQL database).

Indvidual mails are personalized (Dear $membername, etc), but it takes too long to cycle through all members, in which
case I want to use multiple adresses in the bbc header.

Simple question: How many adresses can I put in the header and send to at a time?
