Author problem getting it to work with apache under solaris

Getting the following error when trying to start apache with the LoadModule
after compiling and installing the latest PHP source on a clean install:

Syntax error on line 207 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so into server: ld.so.1:
/usr/local/apache/bin/httpd: fatal: relocation error: file
/usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so: symbol ap_block_alarms: referenced
symbol not found
/usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

Lots of info on the web for this, but not any solutions that have worked.

Any ideas?

thanks,

Scot
