XML Trace - how to suppress?

I'm getting a listing/trace of each
startElement/endElement/characterData function call in the output of a
simple guestbook I'd like to adapt to my production environment.

It's under IIS with PHP Version 4.3.4 and EXPAT Version 1.95.6

I've been all over the script and I'm satisfied that the trace source
isn't there. Can anyone suggest where to look for a way to suppress
these?
