ilia,

fwiw, there's one thing that HAS changed in my env recently ... an XCode
update.

http://developer.apple.com/tools/xcode/update.html

dunno if it's relevant, tho, i have seen *no* adverse effects anywhere
else ...

i've now verified this problem/behavior on four different boxes.

in each case env -> OSX 10.4.6 + XCode 2.3 update, building php 5.1.4
from source. i, unfortunately, no longer have a non-XCode2.3-updated
box to test against ... :-/

on each box, php installs perfectly -- that is, with no errors -- and
execs both standalone & as apache plugin without any immediately
apparent problem.

but, again, 100% of tests in 'make test' FAIL, after that 'malloc'
related error.

of course. but, "5.2 release"? i presume you mean latest cvs head? or
a particular branch?

thx,

richard

i retried with latest cvs 5.2 branch, and unfortunately, same problem ...

php(11908) malloc: *** Deallocation of a pointer not malloced:
0xa000ed98; This could be a double free(), or free() called with the
middle of an allocated block; Try setting environment variable
MallocHelp to see tools to help debug
php(11910) malloc: *** Deallocation of a pointer not malloced:
0xa000ed98; This could be a double free(), or free() called with the
middle of an allocated block; Try setting environment variable
MallocHelp to see tools to help debug
php(11912) malloc: *** Deallocation of a pointer not malloced:
0xa000ed98; This could be a double free(), or free() called with the
middle of an allocated block; Try setting environment variable
MallocHelp to see tools to help debug

then 100% test fails.

what version of OSX? have you updated to last w's XCode 2.3 update?

again, this is happening consistently on multiple boxes, now for both
v514 & v52cvs.

afacit, no other manifestation of this malloc problem with any other
apps ...

what _specific information/trace/etc can i provide you to help track
this down?
