Thanks, that did it ;)
I was using UltraEdit and it seems that it saves UTF-8 files with those extra
few bytes by default. Switching to jEdit solved the problem :)

P.S.
boots, sorry for the private reply, I intended to send to list in the first
place but "Reply-To munging" policy tricked me once more ;)
