I don't know if it was discussed before, but, wouldn't it be a good idea to=
=20
put Smarty in PEAR ?
I think that will give several pros:
1) Standard way of installing Smarty. (I currently have a project that depe=
nds=20
on a number of php libraries/modules... all of them pear modules except for=
=20
smarty... to make it easy, I pack smarty inside my php application, the res=
t=20
of the pear modules are just in a list: install this from pear, if Smarty w=
as=20
on pear, it would make it even easier).
2) Standard errors and so on. (PEAR has a set of standard ways to return=20
errors and so on, Smarty would be needed to be shapped to that way, which i=
s=20
a good thing, because once you learn how to handle PEAR errors, you can=20
handle errors for any module).
What do you think ?
Thank you.
