PHP Smarty Templates - form value cut

Hi there,

in my template in this line:
<td><input type="text" name='firstName' value={$firstName}></td>

the value of {$firstName} is "John Carroll".

My Problem now is, that the form doesent show the complete name but only
"John". The variable shows at other places in ther source template the
full name, only in form it will be cut a part from the variable content..
My smarty version is 2.6.0. RC1. Is this still a bug?
