Author Status of Net_FTP

Hello all,

My development is blocked by an old bug in Net_FTP (#7270) which has been
open and uncommented for so long that it will turn two (years) next year and
be able to walk and talk for itself. I see that the lead and only maintainer
is part of the QA team, but I think this package is orphaned without
notification, as Net_FTP2 is far from finished.

What I propose is that the small bugs (for which in a couple of cases
patches have been submitted) are fixed in 1.3.3 and that 1.4.0 will contain
more extensive changes, with the major change being an improvement in the
directory listing parsing (for instance by exposing methods to the user for
setting the OS or the pattern manually)

Through this way i would like to request contact with the developers and
development community and negotiate about continuing the development. I am
also willing to do some work myself, but I need guidance for that.

Thanks in advance,

Jorrit Schippers, nCode
