I do not really worry about archive_zip as 5.2 includes a full zip
support. However, Archive_Tar is a critical part of pear. I think we
(the pear installer maintainers) should take the hand over
Archive_Tar. Any objection?

Yes, but PHP 5.2 is not yet available (only as a RC). And at least the
product that we tried to use Archive_Zip with, has many customers that
still only have PHP 4.x installed.

Anyway, Archive_Zip has -- apart from of the open bugs / requests --
some missing functionalities, like CRC checks and things like that. A
version 0.1.1 does not sound like a really mature package, too.
Therefore, "unmaintained" should be reasonable here.
