| As you may know Greg Beaver has been the main maintainer of
phpDocumentor for the last couple years. I've help out with some admin
stuff and user support but thats about it.
I've tried to increase the developer pool over the last year or so but I
havent' had any luck. Due to other commitments neither Greg or I are
going to be able to do much work on phpDocumentor until next year. Do
to PHP changes there are number of bugs in php 4.4 and 5.0.5, most have
user submitted patches but they need to be reviewed.
So this brings us to the point of needed to get 1.3.0 out within the
next month or so and no resouces to do it. I would rather not formally
orphan the package if we don't have to since its shipped with so many
editors etc, and I don't want to scare them, but in all reality it has
been for about the last year.
If someone in QA can help out, or if you know of someone who has the
time please let me know. I got an hour set aside this w for making
any structural changes needed to get someone on board.
The main tasks for getting 1.3.0 would be reviewing and applying patches
(there on sourceforge's patch manager), and maybe fixing a couple small
reference return problems. Things should be close enough to working at
that point to call it 1.3.0. Past that there is a major refactoring
project started by another developer focused on php5 features and
performance on large scale projects, and I think thats a much better
place to put effort if your interested in becoming a long term
phpDocumentor developer.
let me know if you have any questions.
