I think perhaps things could have been phrased better.
So long as you are certain that a smaller, more concise, sample of code
also exhibits the same bug or misbehaviour I think it it more favourable to
demonstrate the error with that smaller code sample.
Naturally if the smaller code sample doesn't exhibit the bug that you are
experiencing in production we can't be expected to solve the issue that is
bugging you.
Perhaps Alexy didn't have the right cúpa focla at hand.
