Author Help needed with the installation of MDB2_Drive_ibase.

I really need help installing this package on a RedHat box every time I
try to install the package I get the message "pear/MDB2_Drive_ibase
requires php extension ibase" no valid packages found install failed.
Can someone point me in a clear direction on solving this problem.
