| Hi,
Reading the GTK Mailing list FAQ at http://gtk.org/mailinglists.html, I thought
that the way they allow job postings to their general mailing list is a good idea.
I don't think that allowing job posts on pear-general is a good idea, but what
about a new pear-jobs list ? As for GTK it should be strictly PEAR-related.
Three good reasons :
1 - may be interesting jobs
2 - while getting paid to integrate PEAR packages into some proprietary
software, some bugs are likely to get discovered (and quickly fixed). More
generally, PEAR development may get dynamised.
3 - AFAICS, many PHP developers have no clue what PEAR is. Some companies may
want to hire "PEAR-specialized" people
An other solution would be to create a web based search engine for PEAR related
jobs, but it sounds a bit irrelevant for a technical site as pear.php.net.
