The new PEAR package Log-1.9.1 (stable) has been released at http://pear.php.net/.

Release notes
-------------
The SQL handler failed to prepare the SQL statement when an existing database connection was provided. (Bug 5702)
The SQL handler now supports user-provided SQL insertion statements via the 'sql' configuration parameter. (Request 5703)

The Log framework provides an abstracted logging system. It supports logging to console, file, syslog, SQL, Sqlite, mail and mcal targets. It also provides a subject - observer mechanism.
