Author Pear package manager hanging

I'm running PHP5 on Mac OS X, installed under
/usr/local/php5. Whenever I run a pear manager command
such as "sudo pear install HTML_QuickForm", the
manager goes through the process of downloading the
package but then simply stops.

This is a copy of the terminal output:

sudo pear install HTML_QuickForm
Password:
downloading HTML_QuickForm-3.2.3.tgz ...
Starting to download HTML_QuickForm-3.2.3.tgz (90,694
bytes)
......................done: 90,694 bytes

I also have PHP5 installed on my Fedora Linux machine
but this works fine. It must be a Mac OS X specific
issue. Please can anyone help.

Thanks,

Vincent
