I haven't looked over the list that got sent out today yet so there
may still be some issues with it.
However, that error message you are getting is "known to be unfair" as
we timeout after 5-15seconds - no matter where in the world you are.
That means anyone with "not great" link to USA get unfair treatment by
this check.
This however is the only way we can check if the mirror really is up&running :|
Few falsely-disabled-mirrors are better (for our users) than
falsely-enabled-mirrors.
