Dear Sir,

We are a Web Designing Company(Cicada Media Pvt., Ltd.,) based in Bangalore , INDIA. We have taken up an intranet project for a company called "Hexaware Technologies" in Bangalore. We would like to do PHP web programming for the form submission and MySQL Database as a Backend.

Is there any licensing issues involved in installing and using PHP for a Corporate Firm?

We have downloaded the PHP License V3. which is available from your site "www.php.net" and sent it to them. Since there is no information regarding usage of the software for Corporates, our client want the License agreement for the same.

Since it is not clearly mentioned anything as free to use in Big corporate Companies. , can you please send us the details regadring the Freeware and the Licensing Issues related to the software. It will serve us as a Proof. And we would be able to convince them and go ahead with our project in PHP.

Regards,
Ameen
(Web Programmer for Cicadamedia)

There is no distinction between private persons and corporations.
Basically you can do whatever you want with PHP, except the few things
that are mentioned in the license. It wholly applies to corporations as
well. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reply to the
webmaster@php.net address.
