Yes, I already had gone through the php.ini file from top to bottom,
and that option was set to 0.

My version of PWS doesn't have a home directory tab, or any of the
options you mention. After trying to reinstall PWS, I've just
abandoned it. I think the overall problem may be PWS itself; part of
it wouldn't install correctly (the Microsoft Transaction Server,
whatever that is...), so I just uninstalled it. I've since installed
Apache 2.0, and it works great! (I didn't notice until after I
installed it that it's not meant to be used on Win98, but it works
fine).
