I seem to be getting as many messages like this as genuine traffic from
the list. What gives?

Bob,

Yes, there are a lot of these. They began many months ago now. It was
initially thought that someone had subscribed many of these
autoresponders to the list. That does not seem to be the case, and the
theory is that someone running MS Windows with a virus is responsible.

Whatever the cause it has devastated what was a lively, useful list. I
wonder sometimes if I am the only one left. Hope not.

I really do wish the problem could be resolved.

Regards

Chris

Bob,

Glad there are other regulars. I'm just a user, like yourself. There
have been several attempts to track/solve the problem but without any
success. The list administrators have been informed on several occasions
by subscribers trying to solve the problem.

I think changing the email address for the list is now probably a good
idea, though it does not automatically mean the problem will go away.

There used to be lots of people on this list, so yes I'm at this
situation.

Regards

Chris
