Learning Perl (Llama) book would be good for a beginner, but I thinks
its more suited to someone with some other programming experience. The
books basically tries to get the reader to understand how perl works
and to some extent assumes that you already have some previous
programming experience. If you're trying to get an understanding of
programming in general then this book aint for you. You'd be better of
getting a book on java and then reading Learning Perl.
