I'll take a crack at this.

o The One True Name of God, expressed in ASCII
o An emoticon meaning "tragic stapler accident"
o Perl's $. variable followed by a colon

Just in case it's the last one, the perlvar manpage may help. If it's
one of the others, you're on your own.
