Hi,

I would like to execute commands on a remote machine that I have
configured for automatic login via ssh.

I am having problems doing this and installing NET::SSH isn't an option
for me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you sure about that? Have you tried? You seem to "blow off" a
highly robust and functional module that does exactly what you need to
do...
