I don't remember, I think it may have been from lurking on this list.

Basically from what I've found, if strict gives you errors, then you are
doing something wrong, or at least unusual and prone to bugs. I always
make a point of ferreting out all the strict errors. You can also 'use
diagnostics' for more information, but I don't always find it helpful.
