Author A heartfelt "Thanks" to comp.unix.shell

I want to publicly thank the fine geniuses over at comp.unix.shell for
patiently helping me learn text manipulation with sed and awk. That group is
the most well mannered and modest I have ever dealt with and they set an
example other groups can only hope to emulate.

Unfortunately, alt.perl just doesn't live up to that standard. The group
seems to be led by arrogant windbags. Both alt.html and comp.lang.javascript
also suffer from the same affliction. Ask a simple question and a few
loudmouths instantly tell you why they are experts, what you can't do and
why you are so ignorant.

Sure makes me thankful for the friendly helpful groups.

Their gain is not our loss...
